La Tadrart (200 km southeast of Djanet) is located south of the Tassili N’Ajjer National Park. It offers an infinite variety of sand in every color, but is especially known for its red sand. Here, you can discover magnificent landscapes with the darkest rocks, the deepest canyons, dunes with shifting colors, sandstone castles, and rocks sculpted into cathedral-like formations. You’ll also find gueltas, plains flooded with light, and the opportunity to sleep under the stars, depending on your preference.
Departure for Tadrart: Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Tuareg team and transferred to the camp for a restful night. The next morning, start your day with a revitalizing breakfast before setting off in a 4×4 towards the majestic Tadrart massif. You’ll arrive at the Imaharhaten wadi for a traditional lunch, followed by a scenic drive to Elberdj. Spend the evening under the stars, enjoying dinner and a bivouac in the enchanting region of Elberdj after approximately 5 hours of travel.
ELBERDJ__MARCAOINDI__MOUL NAGA
After breakfast, a three-hour hike begins, taking you through the Albaraj valley, where you’ll discover rock engravings and paintings. You’ll meet up with the guide, the leader, and the 4×4 at Markauindi for a lunch break. The afternoon is dedicated to another three-hour hike towards the Moluannaga dunes, where you’ll visit shelters adorned with rock art before setting up camp in the heart of the dunes.

The day begins with a hike through the dunes, where you’ll discover shelters adorned with ancient rock paintings. You’ll then meet up with the team at Wan Tfalghagh for a lunch break. In the afternoon, the hike continues towards a site with rock engravings and the Wan Zawatan dunes, where you’ll set up camp for the night.
OUANAZAOUA__INETEHAAK__BOUHIDIEN
Climb the dunes leading to ancient natural fortresses. Explore historical plateaus with evidence of prehistoric human occupation. Dinner and overnight stay at a bivouac in Bouhidien.
BOUHIDIEN__TIMERZOUGA
Cross towering spires that form natural cathedrals. Marvel at monumental arches overlooking the valleys. Explore canyons with striking walls carved into ochre and sandy rock. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a bivouac in TIMERZOUGA.
The day begins with a hike to admire the rock engravings and the Africa Arch at In-Tehak, followed by an exploration of the plateaus and traces of prehistoric human presence at BOUHIDIEN. The evening and night will be spent outdoors at BOUHIDIEN.
BOUHIDIEN__AIN TOUBOUREK__OUED INDJAREN
The morning begins with a leisurely walk before taking a 4×4 vehicle for the return journey to Djanet. The route passes through the sites of Bouhidien, In Tehak, Ouan Zaouten, and In Djaren. Dinner and an overnight stay in a bivouac at Adjalti are planned.
Return to Djanet to visit the famous engraving « The Crying Cow. » After lunch, enjoy free time to explore the city of Djanet and possibly refresh yourself. You can also use this time to discover the local souk at your leisure. Dinner will be at Tigharghrt, accompanied by a musical evening, followed by a transfer to the airport.
